Friends, through our faith we have been given a vision for human community that is built on solidarity and trust, not fear and terror. In the wake of the violent events in our country the past few days and last evening in Dallas, it is good and right for us to unite our voices and our hearts in prayer, as we seek paths of peace and hope in God alone.
May we come together to stand against violence, to offer our prayers for the police officers, their families, the communities they serve, and all communities that are rocked by violence. May our prayers orient and inspire us to work for justice and peace.
